About Theo:

I have a passion for the water.  It has been feeding my soul since I was a young boy.  I have been bringing this passion to people in the form of swimming lessons since the age of 10 years old-- I have almost 20 years of experience teaching.  I enjoy teaching all ages and abilities by connecting with people on a personal level while teaching through customized technique training, unique for each individual.

My passion and skill resulted in an athletic scholarship and opportunity to swim at the Division 1 level at Miami University in Oxford Ohio.  I was part of the 2006 Mid America Conference Championship Team as well as an Individual Confrence Champion in the 100 yard Breaststroke.  My breaststroke split in the 200 Medley Relay was top 5 in the NCAA.

Since my swimming career has ended I have focused on my education and training in psychology.  I have my Masters Degree from John F. Kennedy University in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology.  I believe that my ability to connect with and communicate well with people is part of what makes me such a unique swimming instructor.

I also integrate these two passions in some unique ways.  I enjoy working with adults who have fears of the water.  I use my training in psychology and  swimming instruction experience to work with the shame and fear that can come with not yet knowing how to swim.

I am also an American Counsel on Exercise Certified Personal Trainer and have been working as an In-Home Personal Trainer for the last 8 years.

In my free time I like to meditate, read, cycle, waterski, and snow-ski.  I love to laugh, philosophize and spend time with close friends and colleagues.

NOTICE: After many years of traveling to my clients homes for lessons, my full time profession in the field of psychology is not allowing me to treat and work with as many swimming lessons this season.  I will no longer be able to travel to clients homes for lessons and will be exclusively teaching special needs or people with fear or water or water trauma.
